Some questions you might have

  • Yes, we do accept health insurance. We are in network with Moda, PacificSource, Providence, Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Health Care. We bill all Auto Insurance companies and Workmans Comp as well. We do not bill medicare.

We recommend calling your health insurance provider in advance to confirm the benefits available to you. This proactive step can help you understand the specifics of your coverage. When you call your Insurance provider, here are a few questions you can ask.

    1. Is acupuncture a covered benefit with my plan?

    2. Are there any restrictions for what I can be seen for? For example, does my plan only cover low back pain?

    3. Is there an Annual visit limit? How many visits do I get per calendar year?

    4. What is my coverage start date and end date? So you can maximize the utilization of your benefits.

    5. Does my deductible apply to acupuncture services? So you know how it may impact your out-of-pocket costs.

Taking these steps ensures that you have a clear understanding of your insurance coverage, helping you make informed decisions about your acupuncture treatments.

Please be aware of your benefit/visit maximums. We will not be able to offer the time of service discount after insurance has been billed, in the event that your insurance denies the claim. Keep track of the number of visits you have had so you know when to ask us to stop billing. Please let us know if you are on COBRA or if we will be billing auto insurance or workers’ compensation. Additionally, we offer a sliding scale rate to those who are not in-network with us or are uninsured.

  • The procedure is considered very safe when performed by trained and licensed practitioners. Our acupuncturists have either a masters and/or a doctorate in acupuncture and chinese medicine. Our Clinic always uses sterile, single-use needles.

  • The sensation experienced during acupuncture varies among individuals. In general, acupuncture is often described as relatively painless. The needles (we think of them as pins) used in acupuncture are extremely thin, and when inserted properly by a trained practitioner, many people feel nothing at all, or maybe a slight sensation. First timers are shocked at how little they feel.

Some people report feeling a slight pinch or a dull ache. But we promise you we would not be so busy if this hurt or was hard to handle. Once the needles are in place, you might experience a sensation of warmth, heaviness, or tingling around the insertion points.

It's important to communicate openly with your acupuncturist about your comfort level during the session. If you experience any discomfort, they can adjust the placement or stimulation of the needles accordingly. Most people find acupuncture to be a relaxing, therapeutic experience. We pride ourselves in Individualizing your treatment and so be sure to share and concerns with your provider. If you are feeling anxious about it, we will start you slow and make sure you feel nothing at all.
