Why I Practice Chinese Medicine in Portland
I learned about the benefits of Chinese Medicine at a very young age. As a child, I was often sick and was given many medications, most of which had side effects. Like many people, I needed something more to to break the cycle of illness. We discovered a Chinese medicine practitioner who showed me the kind of care that changed my life. He listened and truly cared. He didn’t just treat my symptoms, but showed me how to heal myself. He taught me how to be in touch with my body and the importance of everything I put in it. This created a huge shift for me as well as my entire family. After that I fully immersed myself into the medicine that helped me thrive and feel better than ever.
How I Got Started
I love this medicine because I get to be a part of people's lives in the way my Chinese medicine practitioner was for me. I get to help them genuinely feel better in a long-term, profound way, and in that process they are heard and supported. Part of my job is to educate patients in how to be aware of their bodies and in turn, they can heal themselves on so many levels. I feel incredibly lucky that I can be a part of the path to better health for people.
I received my Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in Santa Cruz, California. I've studied at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China where I specialized in gynecology and obstetrics, as well as neurology and pain management. I've received extensive training in both women’s reproductive health as well as mental and emotional health.
